Material Options for Roll Labels Printing
Paper Sticker Rolls
This is the most common label stock, and these custom Roll Labels are used for indoor applications where moisture resistance is not required. The bright white paper and semi-gloss surface are ideal for colour reproduction, and the weight of the paper reduces tearing or wrinkling during application.
The uncoated paper option is suitable for writing and dry indoor applications. You can use these custom printed Roll Labels on many products, such as boxes, file folders, product containers, bags, and others.
Polypropylene Waterproof Label
This stock is ideal for labels that go on packaging boxes or bottles. Polypropylene is the perfect choice for a waterproof label and can be used for applications where spillage is possible.
This stock option's bright white plastic substrate is ideal for art ranging from bright, vibrant hues to more subtle, delicate colours.
On the crystal clear plastic stock, you should avoid light colors as they appear faint and hard to read unless white ink is also used.
Vinyl Labels
Vinyl labels are rugged and durable and can be used for outdoor applications where permanence and longevity are of primary concern. This stock is commonly used for bumper stickers, warning labels, and other long-lasting messages. UV coating can be added to increase resistance to sunlight and wear and tear.
Bright Silver Metallic Labels
A silver metallic stock is a unique and more cost-effective option for a foil-like finish. Any image printed over silver looks like it was foil stamped, meaning that a label can have many different areas of metallic colours without having to foil each in a different colour. Opaque ink can also be employed to add matte areas as well.
70 lb. Eggshell Felt Label
These custom printed Roll Labels feature a distinct texture, high opacity, and excellent ink holdout. This stock also contains 30% post-consumer waste content making it an ideal choice for eco-friendly applications. It is manufactured with wet strength properties to increase performance in moist environments. The base sheet is FSC® certified.
Finishing options for Custom Product Labels
For custom-printed Roll Labels, you can have them laminated (Silk or Gloss) to provide extra protection and structure. The lamination will go right to the edge of the piece with no lip.
Or you can decide on Matte or Gloss UV. It protects against scuffing, making images and colours look brighter and more vibrant. As the coating is oil-based, it repels ink and should not be used if label will written on, even with a pen or felt-tipped markers. On the other hand, AQ (aqueous) Coating is semi-gloss, environmentally friendly, water-based coating that provides additional gloss and protection and can be written on with a ballpoint pen.
